Forcing my eyes open, I refused to blink, knowing that in a flash the mysterious figure might disappear.

I was hoping the journal would provide answers to my grandfather’s mysterious life, but it seemed to be producing more questions than answers.

The part of you that you repress will eat at you until it destroys you. You’ve always known that, and yet you continue to think everything will be fine. You try to convince yourself that you can fit into a world where you know you shouldn’t exist.

Sometimes I wonder what life would be like if I were just normal. No gifts, no talents, no curses.

With my temporary malfunctioning powers, I somehow felt empty, as if a vital part of me had escaped. I never realized how hollow I’d feel without my abilities. It almost felt like I had a phantom limb; I could feel it there, but I couldn’t do anything with it.

It’s not my fault that I’m intelligent. It comes naturally. Sometimes, I believe that being telekinetic somehow affected my cognitive capacity.
